Kick Off 2015 With These 20 New Years Resolution Ideas – Or Revisit Your Old List

Do you always make New Years Resolutions? Do you always keep them? Or are you planning on writing a list? If you’ve answered ‘YES’ to all of the above, then this post is dedicated to you.

I’ll be honest, I’m probably the worst at keeping New Years Resolutions so I feel somewhat of a hypocrite writing this post. However, I’d like to think that I’ve made solid attempts at keeping my past resolutions – eat healthier, travel more, meet new people, whinge less…

It’s that time of the year when everyone is – forgive the cliche – reflecting on the year gone by. The time of year when you’re probably scrolling through your social media posts, flicking through your journals or perhaps looking out into a gorgeous sunset, and asking yourself whether you’ve done enough or whether there was something you could’ve done differently.

Whether you’re searching the WWW, revisiting your failed New Years Resolutions or drawing up a new one, at the end of the day it’s up to you how you want to do it – or whether you want any at all. At the end of the day, this is just another list I’ve come up with which may resonate with some of you. A list that includes some of my own resolutions for the next 12 months.

  1. Stuck for ideas? Tick off some of the items on your bucketlist (click here to see my list)
  2. Be more spontaneous
  3. Do at least one thing out of your comfort zone
  4. Travel to a place you’ve never been to before
  5. Save, plan, travel more
  6. Focus on yourself, your goals and how to achieve them. Prioritise ‘me’ time.
  7. Not care so much what people think
  8. Take constructive criticism and use it to better oneself or projects
  9. Speaking of which, complete at least one project
  10. Start a blog or maintain one
  11. Learn to laugh at yourself
  12. Go off the grid – for a day
  13. Learn to let go of situations out of your control
  14. Take a chance
  15. Find out who your real friends are. There’s nothing wrong with letting go of ones that drag you down.
  16. If you’ve always thought about being your own boss, write a business plan
  17. Do you hate your job? Find a new one.
  18. Appreciate what you have
  19. Make the most of the year. Your way. Your terms.

So here’s to a new year and a new you.

What are you your New Years Resolutions for 2015?
