Who doesn’t love wine on a school night?!
I got Tweeted (@ailz01) about this event a few weeks back and I thought it would be an interesting event to go to – and a new experience at that.
Organised by Latin PR Australia (Sponsored by Chimu Adventures; Supported by Wines of Argentina, Creative Creations Inc, Consulate General of the Argentine Republic), the Malbec World Day event in Sydney was held on 29 April at Zeta Bar, Hilton Hotel. Already in its 5th year, Malbec World Day attracted more than 70 events in 64 cities and 50 countries around the world to pay tribute to Argentina’s flagship grape variety – the Malbec grape.
At AUD$80 per person, it’s actually quite worth it. The waitstaff were very generous with the wine servings (or should I say, wine top-ups!) – not to mention unlimited – and there were a variety available for tasting. It would’ve been nice to have more variety of Argentine canapés but hey, at least there was more room for wine, am I right?! We also got to try the Berlina beer from Patagonia.
If I have to say one negative, it would have to be that attendees didn’t really socialise or mingle with other people apart from their ‘clique’. I didn’t really get that warm, Argentinian hospitality vibe that I came to love when I was in Argentina a couple of years back.
Took some snaps from my HTC One M8 phone so forgive me for the quality:
